We are reporting a long interview in four parts for members of Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle, a rap-song project with cartoon characters.

For the 4th episode, we mainly asked about highlights of the first full album Enter Hypnosis Microphone, released on April 24th.

One of members from each division attends: Haruki Ishiya, playing Jiro Yamada for Ikebukuro Division “Buster Bros!!!”; Wataru Komada, playing Jyuto Iruma for Yokohama Division “MAD TRIGGER CREW”; Yukihiro Nozuyama, playing Dice Arisugawa for Shibuya Division “Fling Posse”; and Ryuichi Kijima, playing Hifumi Izanami for Shinjuku Division “Matenro.”

What is Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle?
Hypnosis Mic: Division Rap Battle, a rap-song project with cartoon characters played by twelve voice actors; Subaru Kimura, Haruki Ishiya, Kohei Amasaki, Shintaro Asanuma, Wataru Komada, Shinichiro Kamio, Yusuke Shirai, Soma Saito, Yukihiro Nozuyama, Sho Hayami, Ryuichi Kijima and Kento Ito. Members are divided into four “Divisions,” Ikebukuro, Yokohama, Shibuya and Shinjuku to battle with their rap music.

What is the Main Attraction of the Full Album: Enter Hypnosis Microphone?

Enter Hypnosis Microphone, the first album containing five new songs will be released on April 24th.   As Hoodstar by Division All Stars and trailers for songs by each division were also published the other day. I’d like you to talk about highlights of this album.

Kijima: The level of songs gets higher because our rap skills have gradually improved.

Komada&Nozuyama: Right, right!

Ishiya: I agree with you! It is getting more difficult. *Laugh*

Kijima: The more we improve our skills, the more our tasks become profound and demanding. It is worth challenging to make our fans pleased, but actually hard. *Laugh*

Komada: It is more accurate to say that we are forced to improve our skills rather than we improve them by ourselves. *Laugh* The staffs keep demanding to sing new songs so that we have to develop our skills.

Nozuyama: We have no choice but to get better. *Laugh* As our songs are fun and amazing, we feel eager to grow.

Komada: It is surely difficult, but I recently have gotten more room to enjoy and think like “How does Haru-kun sing this song?” “How does Kijima-san perform?” etc.

All: *Nod*
Ishiya: I was surprised that I could challenge the flow I had never tried for one of the songs of this album. I think flow can function as a synonym of each character. For this album, however, cute flow has turned into cool flow, rhythmical lyrics turned into fluent flow - such things happened.

Kijima: Do you mean that characters’ attractiveness has updated?

Ishiya: You’re right! Due to demo tapes with high degree of perfection, I recorded wondering how all of you sing them. But most of you didn’t go as I expected.

Komada: The nuance of shouts and calls can change at the scene. I enjoyed listening to the finished version because some songs became deeper or more pick-me-up than demo tapes.

All members made the quality higher and higher as they couldn’t usually reach. I think that the composer team’s effort has realized such good results.

Additionally, when I see a movie, I feel that I am getting pretty better at moving my arms! *Laugh*

All: That’s true! *Laugh*

Ishiya: Most members can move more naturally. On the other hand, some members don’t move purposely.

Komada: You mean our (Yokohama Division) Rio. *Laugh*
